Design Philosophies
In my approach to design I focus on two vital aspects which boosts learner engagement and retention.
01
Producing higher training outcomes
and learner satisfactions
During the design phase I look deep into the content to draw out the motivation for the learner. I aim to answer questions like, 'How will this impact the learner?' or 'Why does the learner need to know this now?'. Answering these questions allows me to create motivating trainings so the learner gets personally invested in the company's training goals. A learner who is motivated will invest in the training producing higher outcomes and an increase in learner satisfaction.
02
Encouraging active learning experiences
in meaningful ways
During the develop phase, I leverage technology to create dynamic interaction that prompt the learner to participate in the training. Content must be more than just presented to the learner. Therefore, I create learning experiences like trial and error activities or read and respond questions to engage the learner. However, when content is presented in a training, I determine the best organizational flow that presents the content in a meaningful way through chunking information and creating infographics that can be saved for reference.
